Maria joined the HFSV as the inaugural Program Director for the Family College Success Center, a place for the entire family to embark upon a college bound path. Prior to the HFSV, Maria had proven success in high tech enterprise and SMB marketing and sales, and program development in Higher Education. At Microsoft Corporation, she spear-headed philanthropic efforts to bring diversity and education access to minority students including launching a weeklong inner city girls coding camp, a partnership between Microsoft and the prestigious St. Louis Science Center. Since 2005, she has volunteered for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, helping Latinos apply to and succeed in MBA programs. She has also served as an admissions interviewer for her alma mater Dartmouth College, the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management and Washington University in St. Louis. Maria earned her B.A. degree in Icelandic & Italian Studies from the University of Iceland, an M.A. in Multicultural Studies and Globalization from Dartmouth College, and an M.B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis. She is a native Spanish speaker with international work experience in Venezuela, Iceland, Norway, and the U.S.
