“Dan Austin is a co-founder of DivInc, and he heads the company’s strategy and operations. DivInc’s mission is to foster the growth and development of minority- and women-led technology startups. The company recently launched a 12-week accelerator program to help diverse founding teams ensure that their companies are built for success. This means providing them with top-notch, comprehensive programming and connecting them with an extensive network of mentors and investors, critical resources they will need to turn their ideas into viable, scalable businesses.
As a technology and business lawyer at Wittliff | Cutter | Austin, PLLC and, before that, at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., Dan has advised hundreds of technology companies, founders, and investors on a wide variety of transactions, including formation, angel, venture capital and private equity financings, corporate governance matters, complex commercial transactions, intellectual property licensing and distribution, and mergers & acquisitions. His experience spans a broad range of emerging growth industries, including cyber security, The Internet of Things, energy, transportation, digital media, and life sciences.
Prior to his career in technology, Dan was an artillery officer in the United States Army, where he led highly skilled teams, planned operations and managed millions of dollars worth of equipment.
Dan has a BA from the University of Virginia and a JD from the University of Texas School of Law. He loves what he does and is passionate about working with people who endeavor to shape the future.”
