Mercedes Bent is a General Manager at General Assembly, a leading venture-backed education company that helps individuals pursue work they love by teaching practical skills. In this position she is responsible for relationships with traditional higher education institutions and employer partners.
She has previously held positions at GA as the Head of New Ventures and Global Director of Immersive Programs, where she built the company’s flagship product line. Mercedes also launched General Assembly’s first program to improve diversity in tech, the Opportunity Fund, in early 2014.
Prior to General Assembly, Mercedes worked at Goldman Sachs and earned a bachelor’s from Harvard University where she studied economics and East Asian Studies. Mercedes grew up in the Bay Area and enjoys hiking, writing on her blog, traveling, watching soccer, and playing cards.
